God is calling His handmaidens to arise and shine in these last days to proclaim to our generation that He is the same yesterday, today and forever! As I’ve been reading about the lives of Maria Woodworth-Etter, Aimee Semple McPherson, and Kathryn Kuhlman, I’ve been strongly stirred in my spirit regarding the mandate for women in these last days! These special vessels were highly anointed pioneers who helped pave the way for this generation of women to minister in ways, which would have not been fully embraced a hundred years ago. I am reminded of Maria Woodworth-Etter who accepted the call to preach the gospel with little formal education and family opposition, post Civil War, where horse and buggy were the main transportation of that day. She conducted crusades coast to coast and was a forerunner in the Pentecostal movement sweeping the nation. Aimee Semple McPherson stepped out in full time ministry in an era where women didn’t even have the legal right to vote in America! In 1923 she built a 5,300-seat auditorium and conducted such powerful services with many theatrics, even Hollywood stars and directors would attend and be amazed! When the great healing revival broke out in 1948, God raised up Kathryn Kuhlman, a divorced woman, to conduct “healing crusades” around the world, which spanned to the time of her death in 1976. She had a television program in the 1960’s & 70’s called, “I Believe in Miracles” in a time when witchcraft and the occult were popular, letting the world know about the real supernatural, almighty power of God! All of these precious women preached the gospel in demonstration of the Spirit with signs, wonders and miracles, impacting their generations!
The Word declares in Joel 2, and Peter echoed it on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, that God is pouring out His Spirit upon all flesh and daughters shall prophesy! Maria Woodworth-Etter, Aimee Semple McPherson and Kathryn Kuhlman, including us, are among the many daughters mentioned in this prophecy. I’ve been thinking in awe about the wonderful privilege it is to be one of the daughter’s Joel spoke about those many centuries’ ago. We’re the fulfillment of God’s Word! This is our time now to be the women God has called us to be for our generation! For such a time as this, ladies, you have been commissioned to take your place in the kingdom work of God at this critical hour! I strongly encourage you to seek God for your specific purpose and fulfill it. This is why I am so honored to be a part and to share in the vision with Pastor Deven Wallace and the Zion Project team. We are embarking on a spiritual journey and a divine mandate from God to reach our generation with the gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit! Vickie Henderson
