Marla Sharp lives in Smyrna, Tennessee with her husband, Robert, and their two daughters, Robyn and Rachel. She graduated from Lee University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Services and worked part-time for eleven years as a conservator representative for those declared incompetent by the court. In addition to her work in the area of social services, Marla’s greatest joy is partnering with her husband in parenting their two daughters.
Marla is active in her local community serving under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Johnny Minick, at the Smyrna River of Life Assembly of God. Her ministry is marked by the extreme desire to awaken a hunger for God, to encourage and facilitate a genuine encounter with Him, and to have his Son, Jesus Christ, glorified in every way. Marla is driven by the life changing transformations she witnesses while seeing women come to live a life of freedom in Christ.
A love for the Word of God was implanted early in Marla’s heart and she enjoys facilitating in-depth women’s Bible studies with the purpose of teaching women how to love and live on God’s Word. To further her knowledge of the Word, she is currently enrolled in the Berean School of the Bible through Global University. Marla’s passion is to continually grow in the Lord, through the study of His Word and to live out Isaiah 61 by preaching good news to the poor, binding up the brokenhearted, and proclaiming freedom for the captives.
